BEM Unsoed – BEM Unsoed dan elemen mahasiswa se-Banyumas kembali melaksanakan aksi pada Rabu, 3 Mei 2023 di depan Rita Super Mall. Aksi Mimbar Bebas bertujuan untuk menyuarakan kembali keresahan mahasiswa akibat penetapan UU Cipta Kerja sekaligus memperingati Hari Buruh Internasional. Mahasiswa menyampaikan suara mereka dan meminta pemerintah mencabut UU Cipta Kerja yang bermasalah. Hal ini dikarenakan pasal-pasal pada UU tersebut membuat pemilik modal atau kapital dapat dengan leluasa mengeksploitasi masyarakat secara masif.
Sebelum aksi, mahasiswa seluruh Banyumas mengadakan forum konsolidasi dan teknis lapangan untuk mempersiapkan pengawalan isu Hari Buruh. Forum konsolidasi berlangsung pada Senin, 1 Mei 2023 dan forum teknis lapangan berlangsung pada Selasa, 2 Mei 2023 pukul 20.00 WIB. Hasil dari diskusi adalah kesepakatan mengenai bentuk gerakan pengawalan Hari Buruh, yakni Mimbar Bebas.
Aksi diawali dengan berkumpulnya massa di Pusat Kegiatan Mahasiswa (PKM) Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Setelah massa aksi terkumpul, mereka melakukan konvoi dengan motor menuju titik parkir. Titik parkir sebelumnya adalah di selatan Masjid Agung, tetapi pihak kepolisian memindahnya ke bagian timur alun-alun yang biasa digunakan untuk tempat pedagang kaki lima berjualan. Akibatnya para mahasiswa tidak bisa terlalu lama menjalankan aksi karena pedagang akan menempati tempat tersebut. Dalam menjalankan aksi, setiap lembaga menyampaikan aspirasi-aspirasinya dengan berorasi, berpuisi, bernyanyi, dan lain sebagainya. Massa aksi berharap suara mereka didengar oleh pemerintah yang berada di bangku kekuasaan. Aksi Mimbar Bebas ditutup dengan rapat evaluasi oleh koordinator lapangan, para perangkat aksi dan perwakilan lembaga.
