Percepatan ini sendiri dapat diraih PT KAI melalui peningkatan kemampuan prasarana sehingga kereta mampu melaju lebih cepat, tetapi tetap mengutamakan keselamatan perjalanan. Meskipun belum semuanya, tetapi ada beberapa KA yang telah mengalami percepatan waktu tempuh di Stasiun Purwokerto. Beberapa kereta tersebut yakni KA yang melintas di Daop 5 Purwokerto, antara lain KA Argo Wilis (Bandung-Surabaya Gubeng pp), Argo Lawu (Gambir-Solo Balapan pp), Argo Dwipangga (Gambir-Solo Balapan pp), dan Taksaka (Gambir-Yogyakarta pp).
Menurut Vice President Daop 5 Purwokerto, Daniel Johanes Hutabarat, percepatan waktu tempuh ini bisa dilakukan karena ditunjang dengan infrastruktur yang baik oleh pemerintah, terutama nang jalur selatan.
Waktu tempuhnya dipersingkat berapa jam nih?
Kalo waktu tempuhnya sendiri cukup beragam, Lur. Untuk rute Gambir-Yogyakarta pp, pelanggan bisa menggunakan KA Argo Lawu dan Ardo Dwipangga dengan waktu tempuh yang lebih singkat yaitu sekitar 6 jam saja dari sebelumnya sekitar 7 jam.
Sedangkan, untuk rute Bandung-Surabaya Gubeng pp dengan KA Argo Wilis juga dipercepat waktu tempuhnya menjadi 9 jam 55 menit atau lebih cepat 48 menit dari sebelumnya.

Nah, dalam hal peningkatan pelayanan, PT KAI telah meluncurkan layanan Wi-Fi gratis dan live cooking di dalam kereta, Lur. Layanan Wi-Fi gratis dan live cooking ini hadir pada KA Argo Lawu, Argo Dwipangga, Argo Wilis, dan Taksaka. Untuk dapat mengakses Wi-Fi gratis selama perjalanan, para pelanggan dapat memilih SSID WiFi dengan nama #Free Wi-Fi:MacroAd.
